Definitions
Radiants
The Knights Radiant are a military organization of 10 different orders of knights. They lived across Roshar to protect the population from the Desolations (huge wars between monsters and humans).
Spren
A fragment of the power of creation that is drawn to a specific thing like wind, fear, glory, or creativity. They are connected with the Radiants, as the bond between a human and a spren is what allows the human to access the powers of their Radiant Order.
Lighteyes / Darkeyes
Multiple kingdoms in Roshar consider people with light colored eyes to be superior to darker eyes, and automatically ranks lighteyes higher in the caste system. Eye colors in Stormlight are described as being very light or very dark, unlike the middle tones we have.
Spheres
The primary currency in most of Roshar. Each is made of a gemstone suspended in a glass sphere, which can be infused with stormlight and used as a source of light indoors.
Dun
Spheres that are not glowing (currently infused with stormlight) are called "dun". These are sometimes not real gems (which is evident when they can't hold stormlight), so merchants will often not accept dun spheres from people they don't know/trust.
Safehand / Freehand
In Roshar, "safehand" is a term used for a woman’s left hand, which is considered obscene to be left uncovered. Her right hand is often referred to as her "freehand".
Chickens
In Roshar, highstorms ravage the lands regularly, making birds an uncommon creature. Thus they all originate in Shinovar, where the weather is more mild, and they managed to be collectively known as "chickens" instead of "birds".
Women's Script
In some kingdoms of Roshar, men primarily don't read at all, so books are written by women and scribes are also women. Women's script is an alphabetic writing system that is used exclusively by women, as writing is considered a feminine pursuit.
Wit
In Alethkar, the King’s Wit is a person who says the rude/sassy things that the king is above saying. At our event, that'll be played by specific Brightlords.
