What areSpheres?
Spheres are not only the currency in the world of Roshar (the setting of Stormlight Archive books), they are also the currency of our event!
They are made of gemstones suspended in glass spheres, and they can hold stormlight to be used as lamps or to provide power to the Knights Radiant. Their highest-value gemstone, emeralds, can even be used to create food from nothing!
For our purposes, we have over 1500 spheres made of resin, with resin gemstones that are made with alcohol ink and glow powder, so they're able to hold a small amount of UV instead of stormlight.
Each ticket comes with 5 spheres of currency valuing between 25 and 100 diamond chips (depending on the ticket type / VIP status).
Sphere Types
Spheres at this event come in 3 sizes of gemstone:
chip (small)
mark (medium)
broam (large)
They also come in 5 different gemstones:
Diamonds have the lowest value
Topaz
Ruby
Sapphire
Emeralds have the highest value
Sphere Values
In the books, an emerald broam is worth 1000 diamond chips, which makes sense in a large-scale economy, but puts emeralds out of reach for the event.
We've adjusted the balance accordingly, so the highest level currency is still challenging to reach, but not impossible.
Sphere Shop
Find Stitch on site during the hours that Gate is open to peruse the (roaming) Sphere Shop!
(Stitch will be wearing a headband with an arrow pointing down at them)
Items available to purchase using event currency will update each day, and could include:
- scrolls from trinkets section of RoP
- potions from trinkets section of RoP
- captive spren (collect your own joy, glory, laughter, life, or passion spren!)
- glow-in-the-dark chickens
- glow-in-the-dark wind spren
- crochet voidbringer chickens
- fairy lights (red / blue / warm white)
